The Bicycle Coalition will not be holding Bike Freedom Valley this year and we are looking for a new home for the ride for next year. Why? Freedom Valley is a victim of its own success – founded to promote the idea of a trail to Valley Forge three decades ago, today riding on the trail is such old hat, it can’t draw the thousands of riders needed to make it the kind of fundraiser that supports the bigger, bolder organization we have become. In the end, we felt the staff time spent on Bike Freedom Valley would be better spent supporting our mission by promoting our new Commuter Challenge and marketing our ride that is drawing thousands: Bike Philly.
