Calling Artists to Design Philly's Next Art Bike Rack

Design a bike rack which will be placed at prominent locations around Philadelphia! In partnership with the City of Philadelphia Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy, we are issuing a call for proposals for bike racks. This competition is open to all artists and design professionals.
UPDATE: THE NEW DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS SEPTEMBER 30TH. And one dimension of the large bike racks has been updated.
Our goal is to use the same pavement twice: bring some desperately-needed bike parking to our streets, while enlivening our streetscapes with new public art. This contest is made possible by a grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation as part of its Knight Arts Challenge.
Locations are TBD. Multiple designs may be selected. For full competition details, including the project budget, selection process, submission procedures and design guidelines, please see the official RFP document.
The deadline for submissions is September 30, 2013. Questions can be directed to Margot Berg at margot.berg@phila.gov.
