SEPTEMBER 30, 2011. PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA. The Philadelphia City Planning Commission is holding several Open Houses in October to present draft findings from the second phase of its Pedestrian and Bicycle Master Plan. This will be residents' first opportunity to learn what changes to pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure the City is planning in West, Southwest, and Northeast Philadelphia.
The City is presenting its plans for West Philadelphia with open houses on October 11th and 12th:
Tuesday, October 11 6:00 - 8:00 pm Myers Recreation Center 5803 Kingsessing Ave
Wed, October 12 6:00 - 8:00 pm Fisher Fine Arts Library Apse, 4th floor 220 South 34th Street
Plans for Northeast Philadelphia will be presented during two open houses on October 25th and 26th:
Tuesday, October 25 6:00 - 8:00 PM CORA Services, Inc 8540 Verree Road
Wednesday, October 26 6:00 - 8:00 PM Juniata Park Older Adult Center 1251 E. Sedgley Ave
The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia has been calling for the City to improve bicycling infrastructure to accommodate rapidly rising demand. The Bicycle Coalition is encouraging its members and interested residents to take advantage of this chance to give the City feedback on its efforts to make Philadelphia a friendlier city for pedestrians and bicyclists.
