Public Invited to Winter Walk on Future Schuylkill River Trail Guided walk on Saturday, February 27th to see where new trail segments are planned for West and Southwest Philadelphia

Philadelphia, PA. -- The Complete the
Schuylkill River Trail Coalition will lead a mid-winter walk on Saturday, February 27th through
several West Philadelphia and Southwest Philadelphia
sites where new segments of the Schuylkill River Trail will be located.
The
Walk will convene at 9:30am and start off at 9:45am from the Bartram's Garden
parking lot. Bartram's Garden is located
at 54th and Lindbergh
Avenue. Old
clothes and waterproof boots are recommended.
The walk will proceed from the Bartram's property to 51st Street, to Paschal Avenue
and then over the Gray's Ferry
Bridge to Dupont Crescent
site on the east side of the river. The
walk will end at the Trolley Works depot, where walkers will be driven back to
Bartram's.

Bicycle
and car parking at Bartram's Garden
is available, or take Trolley #36 (get off at the green BP station).
Bartram's
Garden path will be receiving construction funds through the newly awarded
TIGER grant. Schuylkill River Development Corporation will break ground on Dupont Crescent this
spring. A new river crossing is being
planned between the Dupont
Crescent and old National Heat and Power site,
which is currently owned by Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation
