Your 2012 membership supports:

  • The work of our 8 local advocacy committees

  • Our Bicycle Ambassadors program - Bicycle Ambassadors encourage adult bicyclists to ride more often and more safely as well as educate motorists on the rules of the road and provide tips for sharing the road.

  • Philadelphia’s new bike plan a blueprint for Mayor Nutter’s goal of creating the “Greenest City in America”

  • Philadelphia’s Bike Month in May with events like Bike to Work Day and Bike to the Ballpark.

  • Our campaign to have Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware adopt statewide complete streets policies to ensure bicyclists are planned for in all road and transportation projects

  • The Delaware Valley’s presence at the National Bike Summit to make sure biking is an important part of next year’s federal transportation bill

  • Bring bike sharing to Philadelphia

  • Expand Bike Philly's car-free route.

The past year has been a very exciting one at the Bicycle Coalition -- from planning for a new bike plan under the Nutter administration to a state-wide win for reviewing bicyclists’ needs in all future Pennsylvania road construction to hosting 3,200 riders at our annual Bike Philly event.

We cannot make any of our plans come true without the support of our members. Many of our members choose to give a dollar a week to make their ride better. Committing to a dollar a week is a strong step towards making the Delaware Valley a more bicycle-friendly community — and it costs less than what you spend on gas or SEPTA – or even coffee!
