Promoting bicycling as a healthy, low-cost, and environmentally-friendly form of transportation and recreation.

A Message from Mayor Nutter

When Philadelphians bike, the city benefits in many ways: we reduce congestion, increase the quality of our air and reduce greenhouse gases. When you bike, you improve your health through an active lifestyle, save money, and often get where you want to go faster. To top it all off, getting around by bike is a fun way to take in the sights and sounds of our beautiful city.

Of course, it's important to reach the end of your ride safely. As part of our campaign to make Philadelphia the Greenest City in America, the City of Philadelphia is proud to partner with the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia on the Bicycle Ambassadors program.  Bicycle Ambassadors are working in the community to encourage adult bicyclists to ride more often and ride more safely as well as educate motorists on the rules of the road and provide tips for sharing the road.  Request an appearance from the City of Philadelphia's Bicycle Ambassadors at your next event!
