8th annual Philadelphia Ride of Silence
Wednesday, May 16th (rain or shine)6:45 pm; meet at steps of Philadelphia Art MusemThe Ride of Silence, happening worldwide, honors cyclists killed or injured in motor vehicle-related crashes and raises awareness of cyclists' right to share the road. The Ride is a slow, silent 8 mile loop through Philadelphia with police escort. Helmets required, lights encouraged. No registration required; info@bicyclecoalition.org for info.
Philadelphia - Bike to Work Day with Mayor Nutter Friday, May 18th (rain or shine) 7:30 AM, gather at Lloyd Hall (coffee provided!)
8:30 AM - ride down the Parkway to Love Park (route)
Celebrate the joy of biking to work by joining Mayor Nutter and other dignitaries for a short but sweet police-escorted ride down the Parkway to Love Park.
Delaware County - Bike to Work Day Friday, May 18th 8:30 AM, Courthouse at Front & Olive Streets, Media PA Sponsored by DELCO TMA in partnership with the Delaware County Planning Dept. Refreshments provided, raffle of items donated by local bike shops.

Pennsylvania and New Jersey are participating in the National Bike Challenge! As of Thursday morning, Pennsylvania was 7th in the national leaderboards; New Jersey was 40th.
We can do better! Start logging your miles today and let's climb the rankings. Want incentives? The national organizations are giving away prizes to participants, but we are rewarding Pennsylvania and New Jersey riders as well!
To be qualified for the prize raffles, simply select during registration to receive information from us or fill out this tiny form. Then hit a point level by the end of the month to be automatically entered into the drawings.

For Teams and Workplaces Our friendly Bicycle Ambassadors are offering free urban riding basics classes and bike commuting info sessions to interested communities and workplaces. Classes are 60 minutes and can fit into your schedule. Our Ambassadors cover getting the right fit of bike and helmet, how to bike to work while still dressing professionally, how to pack, rules of the road, secure bike locking, and more!
